Canola

Valued for its versatility, canola is grown for oil-rich seed used for human consumption, biofuels and animal feed. Well known in cooking oil production, this oilseed crop is also used to produce biodiesel that holds promise as a cleaner-burning, more sustainable heating oil. AgBiotech researchers work to discover and develop new canola varieties with improved yields, disease and pest resistance, herbicide tolerance, stress resilience, and reduced need for chemical inputs. 

Our clean, inert Oasis Grower Solutions substrates and production aids help support AgBiotech researchers with seed and plantlet establishment, healthy root growth, and water and fertility management. Our engineered substrates can be sanitized or sterilized chemically or physically (autoclave or gamma sterilization) without breaking down or altering their physical structure. In addition, treatments can be added and removed from the open-cell foam design, allowing AgBiotech scientists greater control in their vital research. 

Please note: Our engineered foam substrates are autoclavable, but our plastic trays are not. If you are interested in a configuration that’s not part of our standard offering, please let us know.
