Corn

One of the world’s most important staple crops, corn is used for human consumption, animal feed and industrial applications, including biofuels such as ethanol. AgBiotech researchers work to discover and develop new corn varieties with improved nutritional value, higher yields, better disease and pest resistance, improved herbicide tolerance and reduced need for chemical inputs. Improved resilience to extreme weather events, including extended drought and derecho winds, are also goals.

Our clean, inert Oasis Grower Solutions substrates and production aids help support AgBiotech researchers with seed and plantlet establishment, healthy root growth, and water and fertility management. Our engineered substrates can be sanitized or sterilized chemically or physically (autoclave or gamma sterilization) without breaking down or altering their physical structure. In addition, treatments can be added and removed from the open-cell foam design, allowing AgBiotech scientists greater control in their vital research.

Please note: Our engineered foam substrates are autoclavable, but our plastic trays are not. If you are interested in a configuration that’s not part of our standard offering, please let us know.
