Wheat

One of the world’s most important crops, wheat is a staple food for much of the world’s population. Climate change and loss of arable land add urgency to the need for new wheat varieties. AgBiotech researchers work to discover and develop new varieties with better climate resilience, higher nutrient content, improved yields, better disease and pest resistance, improved herbicide tolerance and stress resilience, and reduced need for chemical inputs. 

Our clean, inert Oasis Grower Solutions substrates and production aids help support AgBiotech researchers with seed and plantlet establishment, healthy root growth, and water and fertility management. Our engineered substrates can be sterilized or sanitized (autoclave or gamma sterilization) without altering the physical structure. In addition, the open-cell foam design allows treatments to be added and removed from the substrate, providing AgBiotech scientists with greater control in their vital research.

Please note: Our engineered foam substrates are autoclavable, but our plastic trays are not. If you are interested in a configuration that’s not part of our standard offering, please let us know.
